Recording for Precious Downtime took place over the span of a couple years. So by the time it was all said and done, we had more tracks than would fit on a single LP. We felt like these two tracks didn’t fit the rest of the vibe of the album quite as well as the other ones did so, after much deliberation, we decided to cut them. Wide Awake was actually one of the first tracks we recorded for the record, it’s really just three different song ideas smashed into one. Flat Water was one of the last tracks we recorded. The dark psych-beach vibe of that song kind of harkens back to our earlier days and would have had a nice home on our first LP Neon Debris.
